Stop Press - Compton & CF cruise into the Village (Igglesden) final to continue their defence of the trophy (see report)
Week 11. The 1st team picked up a vital victory at Bramshaw where Chris completed a fine all-round performance scoring 70 in our total of 277 and then picking up five wickets. The 2nds went down by 68 runs despite 6-56 from skipper Russ. Scot Weston's 42 together with 4 wickets from CJ Grewal and 3 from Jack Brenan, helped the 3rds to a good win while the 4ths were unable to maintain their recent good form and were bowled out for 100 chasing a lowly 132.

Our club was formed by the merger of Chandlers Ford CC and Compton & Shawford CC in 1995.
In 2008 we will be increasing the number of League sides playing on Saturdays. Our 1st XI will be playing in Hampshire County Div 1 following back to back promotions in 2002 & 2003 and then again in 2006. The 2nd XI, who were NW2 champions in 2007, will be in Regional Div 1 South. The 3rd team move to Div 3 North East and our new 4th XI will be starting off in Div 4 Central.

Based at the delightful Memorial Playing fields in Shepherds Lane, Compton where our 1st and 2nd XI play. We also have a ground at Hiltingbury in Chandlers Ford which is unavailable whilst it undergoes re-development. During this time our 3rds and 4ths will be playing at King George V playing fields in Winchester.
The facilities at Compton have undergone a radical improvement with the building of a superb new clubhouse and changing rooms during the 2003. Opened just before Xmas 2003 the new clubhouse is proving to be very popular and is now open each Friday evening for a general Sports club night and Thursday evenings for cricket practice and socialising. New cricket nets with all-weather pitches were installed at the end of last season and a new all-weather wicket was layed during the close season.
Many of our players have come up through our colt set-up and we have a young and improving 1st XI. The club is ambitious but still retains an excellent club atmosphere with all sides returning to the club after the matches and often going on for a post match meal. We also enjoy lots of formal and informal social events including a pre-season golfing weekend and end of season cricket tour. Several of our players travel from London to play here at weekends.
The club enjoyed a pre-season cricket tour to Barbados in 2006 and thoughts are already turning to a potential tour to South Africa,India or Bournemouth.
Anyone, at any level, looking to join our club will be made extremely welcome. Umpires, scorers and supporters always appreciated.
